The island Cozumel, which offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world, it's just a short boat ride away. The site of Chichén Itzá is 3 hours away, but it's definitely worth the trip! Although touristy Playa del Carmen is captivating and picturesque, full of small and charming Mexican shops and restaurants. This little city has so much to offer if you want it.
